GETTING TO PARIS AND A SANE CLIMATE AGREEMENT
Mobilizing Western New York for Climate Action and Social Justice
(September – December 2015)

Rise Up for Climate Justice

JOIN US

Rally at Niagara Square on September 24 at 4:00pm
The day Pope Francis speaks to the U.S. Congress

As President Obama said, “Climate Change is not a problem for another generation.”

Failure to act would constitute a grave injustice to all future children of the Earth as well as to poor people and poor countries that contribute the least to global warming pollution.

SCIENCE TELLS US WE MUST STOP BURNING FOSSIL FUELS TO CURB GLOBAL WARMING, AND JUSTICE DEMANDS THAT WE ACT IN EARNEST NOW.

WE CALL ON THE PRESIDENT AND LEADERS OF ALL NATIONS
TO SIGN AND ENFORCE A UNIVERSAL, LEGALLY-BINDING AGREEMENT
TO COMBAT CLIMATE CHANGE AND SUPPORT A JUST TRANSITION
FROM FOSSIL FUELS TO CLEAN ENERGY SOURCES.

"A true ecological approach always becomes a social approach; it must integrate questions of justice in debates on the environment, so as to hear both the cry of the Earth and the cry of the poor." -- Pope Francis

Green Demolition Team Opens ReUse Store on East Side of Buffalo

ReUse Action creates a destination for quality materials, training and education, and support for the restoration arts

On September 12th, 2015, ReUse Action will be opening a new retail destination on the East Side of Buffalo. For nearly five years, ReUse Action has been dismantling buildings throughout the Northeast, salvaging materials and incorporating materials into new construction and restoration projects. Now, as they expand their vision for the reuse of materials they will add a retail component to create training opportunities for youth, while delivering high quality building materials to the community.

The opening will be both a launch of the retail destination for ReUse Action, as well as an introduction to The Guild @ 980, a center for green jobs training, green and reclaimed materials and the restoration arts.

The event will take place on September 12th, from 9 am to 4 pm at the Guild, 980 Northampton Street in Buffalo’s historic Milk-Bone District, on the Belt Line, with the Launch Party from Noon to Four.

There will be local music and food and attendees will have the opportunity to browse the latest salvaged materials, value-added products, and art works, all featuring reclaimed materials, as well as tours of the 1920s era building housing The Guild @980.

ReUse Action is Western New York’s first and only Green Demolition team. Founded in 2011, ReUse Action has dismantled scores of residential structures, commercial buildings and barns. ReUse Action’s focus is to leverage what is usually considered waste to create training opportunities for out-of-school young adults, while also delivering quality materials to homeowners, artists, contractors, and DIYer’s throughout the region. The ReUse Action team also founded Buffalo ReUse in 2007.

Starting September 12th, the store will be open Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 9 am to 4 pm. More information can be found at: www.reuseaction.com
